Max Ginsburg est un peintre américain et un illustrateur né à Paris en 1931. Il a vécu et enseigné toute sa vie à New York. Il est le fils d'Abraham Ginsburg, peintre né en Russie en 1891, naturalisé américain.
Durant les années 1970 et 1980, il réalise quantité d'illustrations de couverture de littérature populaire.
Il a effectué de nombreuses expositions et reçu de nombreux prix pour ses œuvres.
Son art se caractérise par l'usage de la technique à l'huile dite "alla prima", technique qui lui fût enseignée par son père. Il se réclame de l'école académique française.
Il a enseigné à la prestigieuse Art Student League de New-York.
Ricky Mujica, Marc Texeira, Boris Vallejo et Richard Marazano ont été ses élèves.
